How to run a ping pong tournament
- 1
Choose a match length
Best of three games to 11 is a common choice for office and club events. Best of five is better for finals if you have time.
- 2
Set up your tables
Each table is a field in the template. Matches are spread across tables so two can run at once.
- 3
Pick single or double elimination
Double elimination suits small groups where everyone wants more table time. Single elimination is quicker for larger groups.
- 4
Enter players in pairing order
The first two players on the list meet in round one, then the next two. If you want your strongest players apart, place them in different halves of the list.
- 5
Record winners and fix mistakes
Tap the winner after each match. If a result was entered wrong, undo it and the bracket updates.
Ping pong bracket size cheat sheet

| 4 | 0 | 2 | 4 | 7 | 30m / 1h |

Game counts include the third-place game. In double elimination, add one more game if the grand final resets. Rounds are winners-bracket rounds.
Frequently asked questions
Should a ping pong tournament be singles or doubles?
Either works. In mybracket.app each entry is a name, so enter individual players for singles or pairs like 'Sam & Alex' for doubles.
Do players and spectators need to sign up?
No. Only the organizer creates a free account. Players and spectators open the read-only share link in any browser, with no sign-in, no download and no ads.
How many players can a ping pong bracket have?
From 2 to 32. If your count isn't a power of two, byes are added automatically in the first round.
